Engaging with identity languages

Research Question:

How will using native language texts (alongside English language texts of the same works) in Language and Literacy Classes with middle school EAL students improve their vocabularly, class participation, and comprehension of the text?

The purpose of this action research project is to improve the reading experience of EAL studnet in inquiry driven learning environments where class discussion is critical to understanding and language development, and in situations where it is crucial for students to understand a text in order to participate in class discussions.
